School Advisory Council - Community Member Required

Parents, we need your assistance in recruiting a Community Member for the CPJH School Advisory Council.

The CPJH School Advisory Council requires a Community Member to be a representative on its committee, and who would be appointed for a term of two years.  The Community Member cannot be an employee of the Halifax Regional Centre for Education or a parent / guardian of a student at CPJH. However, the Community Member may be another relative of a student at CPJH (e.g., grandparent, uncle, aunt, etc.).  The Community Member must also reside in the CPJH catchment area or provide a service to, or within, the CPJH catchment area.

The School Advisory Council plays an important role within CPJH, with its main responsibility on advising the principal and school staff, and the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, on policies, curriculum and programs, school practices, student support services, fundraising, parent-school communication, and similar matters.  The CPJH School Advisory Council meets six times a year, typically on the third Tuesday of the month.

We are asking if parents can help identify potential interested community members.  Further information on School Advisory Councils, interested individuals can go to the HRCE website at  https://www.hrce.ca/about-hrce/school-administration/school-advisory-cou... In addition, interested individuals can contact the Principal at tcanavan@hrce.ca or the School Advisory Council Chair, at hrce-sac-cpj@gnspes.ca
