Clayton Park Junior High

School Schedule Update

Good Evening Clayton Park Junior High Families,

Staff have been busy planning and organizing for At-Home Learning that will begin on Monday, January 10th.  Homeroom teachers have sent communication to families today regarding student schedules.  Student’s schedules were included as an attachment.  If you did not receive the email with attachment, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.

The school day will start at 9:20 am and end at 2:20 pm for all students. Please note changes in the lunch hour (11:45-12:45) for all students and the 5-minute transition time between periods for teachers/students to log on and prepare for the next class.

Grade 7s,8s and 9s will have 4 hours of school each day.

Students’ learning will be a combination of asynchronous (off line) and synchronous (on line) communication with teachers. Teachers will be taking attendance in PowerSchool and students will be logging into their Google Classroom each period.  It is an expectation that all students engage and take part in learning while at home.

If your child experiences difficulty logging in to their GNSPES Google Classroom, please reach out to a classroom teacher.

If your child will be, absent during anytime of the At-Home Learning please contact, administrative assistant Ms. Reid cpjh@hrce.ca

All staff are here to support students and families through the transition and time that we are At-Home Learning.  Ms. Matte, School Councillor is available to support students and families.  Her email address is Jillian.Matte@hrce.ca. She also has a website that is on our school website with some great resources to support families and students.

If you or your family are in need of food because of school closures, please dial 2-1-1 (Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm).  The team navigators will take your information and arrange for a food box to be delivered to your home free of charge by Feed Nova Scotia.

Please review the information outlined above with your student.

Reach out to staff or administration if you have any questions.  We want this transition to be as easy as possible for students and families.

Take care and be safe!
