Here's a quick little update regarding some important things coming up at CPJH!

Report Cards

On Tuesday April 5th in the morning report cards will be going home by email. Students will have access to the report cards via their GNSPES account and parents/guardians will receive access to them in the email associated with the student’s power school account.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent - Teacher interviews will be happening on April 7th. There will be the option to attend in-person or receive a phone call interview. In-person interviews will be available between 1:00pm-3:00pm only. Parents/guardians must sign up for an in-person interview during these times only.

Any parent attending an in-person interview will be required to wear a mask while in the school.

Phone interviews will take place from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Parents/guardians must sign up for a phone interview during these times only.

Parents will be able to sign up online as they have done in the past. The link for sign up will be sent to families by 4pm on Monday April 4th. Please remember to include the name of your child and the phone number that you would like to be reached at for a phone interview.

If you are not able to connect with a teacher during this day, please contact the teacher via email and request to connect with them.

A reminder that there is no school for students on April 7th.

Parking and Bus Loop

The Halifax Regional Municipality has placed No Parking signs across the street in front of CPJH and 15 minute parking signs on the sidewalk side of the school. This is so that all school buses can access our bus loop in a safe manner. We are asking all parents and guardians to please not park across the street to pick up or drop off students at the beginning and end of the school day. We thank parents and guardians for not accessing the bus loop during the hours of 8am to 4pm. Again, parents are encouraged to park on the side street of Woodward Crescent to drop off and pick up students. We thank you for your cooperation with this, as we want to keep all students safe.

Safe Arrival & Leaving Early

If your student will not be at school, we ask that you please call the school at 902-457-8930 and press 1 for safe arrival/report a student absence. Alternatively, email cpjh@hrce.ca with the students name and dates they will be absent. We ask that you please remember to do this so that Ms. Reid is not calling parents to check on students for the entire morning and afternoon. If your student is leaving early, we ask that you please let the school know by sending an email to cpjh@hrce.ca on that day or calling the main office. When you arrive to pick up your student, we ask that you please ring the front

doorbell and we will gather your student and send them out. We must have contact with the person picking up the student for safety and security reasons. We ask that you please not text your student as, teachers will not allow students to leave.

The main office phone is not answered between 11:15am and 12:20pm.

Water Bottles

Students are reminded to bring a water bottle with them as, there is no access to water fountains. We have water bottle refill stations for students to fill their water bottle up throughout the day.
