Orange Shirt Day is observed across the country on September 30. Since it falls on a Sunday this year, HRCE will honour the day on Thursday, September 27. Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for all staff and students to increase their awareness about the thousands of Indigenous children across Canada who were forced from their homes to attend residential schools. Acknowledging this day provides an active invitation for our region to participate in reconciliation.
