Message from Student Leadership – Sock Collection

* We will have a bin in the front entrance of the main building and in the modular during parent teacher interviews for donations*

Clayton Park Jr. High's school leadership group has started meeting and have planned some initiatives for the school community. They have been promoting events happening at the school, working on bulletin boards and are helping organize our first school dance on Thursday, November 16. Students have been busy planning for the dance, selling tickets and making posters!

Leadership students have also started a sock campaign as a way to promote citizenship education in our school community. Many homeless people in Nova Scotia struggle to keep warm during the winter due to the lack of proper equipment. One of the things we can do to help is bring in new socks (for men or women). Giving people who are homeless socks doesn't just keep their feet warm, but also protects their bare feet from any permanent foot problems. If you would like to donate some socks, there will be bins in the homerooms to collect new socks for both adults and children. Socks will be donated to an organization that supports the homeless population.

Our students are also planning a spirit week in December- stay tuned for more information closer to the end of November.
