Clayton Park Junior High

January 11th Update

Good Evening Clayton Park Junior High Families,

Happy New Year!  Hard to believe that it is January and that we are approaching the halfway mark in the school year.  It was nice to welcome the students back after Holiday Break.

We would like to welcome the following staff to Clayton Park as, they are in teaching positions until the end of June.  Ms. Grosvenor teaching 61, Mr. Wotton teaching Textiles Designs 7, Food and Nutrition 8 and Healthy Living 8 and Ms. Moore teaching 50% Learning Center and 50% Healthy Living 7&8.

PowerSchool

All parents, guardians and students are encouraged to check PowerSchool on a regular basis.  PowerSchool is updated daily with student attendance.  In addition, parents, guardians, and students can check on students’ assignments and assessments.  Anything that is blue in PowerSchool provides additional information.  Teachers have updated students’ assignments and assessments in PowerSchool as of Friday, January 5th.  Please reach out to your student’s teacher if you have further questions.

Dressing for the Weather

Now that the colder weather is upon us, we are reminding the students to dress appropriately for the weather.  Unless temperatures are very cold, students will be outside during lunch for 25 minutes.

Supervision

Just a friendly reminder that supervision begins at 9am for students.  Students should not be on school property before 9am as; supervision is not provided before this time. We have reminded students about this and explained the rationale behind it.

Water Bottles

Students are reminded to bring a water bottle with them as, there is no access to water fountains.  We have water bottle refill stations for students to fill their water bottle up throughout the day.

SCENT AWARE

We are a scent aware school as we try to maintain an environment that is healthy for everyone. Students are asked not to wear scented products to school. Many students and staff have severe allergies to “scents” and we want to keep everyone healthy and safe.
